Jason D. Blakeman
Jason D.
Blakeman started his martial arts training at the age of 4 . His parents
divorced and his mother decided to enroll him into classes for a positive male
role model. His instructor, John Devope was a member at a local buddhist
tepmle in NYC chinatown. He bagan taking Masterr Blakeman to the temple
on a regular basis. Master Blakeman took a fond interest to Dharma Master
Li Chi Ming and with permission of his mother, he was ordained a novice
monk. At the temple he studied meditation, chi gong, taichi, and other
buddhist kung fu systems.
At the age
of 15 master Blakeman decided to leave the temple in search of life outside the
temple. What he found was a vast amount of other martial arts out
there. He began to study as many of these arts as he could eventually
earning the rank of blackbelt in 5 arts, and 7 instructor certifications.
Master
Blakeman saw the limitations on a set system and decided to devote his learning
to seminars studying many times over with noted instructors such as Dan Inosanto,
Paul Vunak, Shi Yan Ming, Tony Blauer, Marco Ruas, Royce Gracie, The Machado
Brothers, Remy Presas, Jeff Delaney, The Dog Brothers, and Bob Orlando.
Master
Blakeman then took what he has learned and turned it into an evolutionary
system called MAPHILINDO fighting arts, after the Malay, Philipino, and
Indonesian arts that he had studied in detail. He founded a military
fighting sytem known as S.P.A.R.S. (scientific protective agression response
systems), and a law enforcement system known as C.O.P.S. (Combat Orientated
Physics Skills).
Today,
Master Blakeman is President and Founder of the Maphilindo Fighting Arts
Association. A Non Profit Organization with roots in the MAPHILINDO and
Interfaith traditions. He teaches seminars internationally and is Head
instructor of KICKIN FOUNDATIONS, a Christian based martial arts program aimed
at at risk youth.
